Scope of service

Design.

UI design, brand guidelines, wireframes, and a reusable component library — the visual source of truth that every page, campaign, and document runs off of.

Design · Development · SEO · Analytics · Marketing
4
Design · What prospects see

On mobile, the homepage overflows the viewport — PageSpeed sits at 55 mobile / 66 desktop.

When a prospect opens mpsgrp.com on their phone, the headline cuts off mid-word and the cookie banner's "Accept All" button bleeds past the right edge of the screen. These are the table-stakes issues the design scope addresses before anything else ships.

What prospects see on mobile
  • Headline "YOUR VALUED PARTNER" overflows horizontally — cuts mid-word on most devices
  • Cookie banner's "Accept All" button bleeds past the right edge of the viewport
  • Hero compressed below the fold — the primary message sits off-screen on first paint

Design · The brand system

A Figma source of truth. One kit. Every surface.

One Figma file — versioned, shared, handed over on day one. Every colour, type size, component, and page template is defined once and reused across site, social, sales decks, and email. The kit isn't a document; it's the system your whole brand runs on.

The homepage ships 42 render-blocking resources — Google scores it 55/100 mobile.

A single WordPress page loads 19 stylesheets, 23 scripts, a 19 MB video from a third-party staging host, and zero security headers. Real visitors wait 9.4 seconds on mobile before the largest element paints.

Your website is running outdated PHP.
Dashboard flags are showing.

On mpsgrp.com we see unsupported PHP, a backlog of plugin updates, and active security warnings — issues to resolve on your site before they turn into downtime.

MPS
The Impact

What we see on your site when PHP and plugins fall behind.

  • Unsupported PHP version

Your site is on PHP 7.2 — below what WordPress and modern plugins expect.

  • Plugin update backlog

Multiple plugins are waiting on updates — matching the alerts in your dashboard.

  • Security vulnerabilities

Outdated PHP and plugins are easy targets for hackers and automated attacks.

  • Performance drag

Slower load times and resource strain hurt visitors and search visibility.

  • Site reliability risk

White screens and sudden outages become more likely as versions age.

  • Business impact

Lost traffic, weaker rankings, and damaged credibility when the site goes down.

SEO · On-page audit

9 of 10 pages ship with an empty meta description.

Google has nothing to work with. The on-page signals that decide whether mpsgrp.com shows up for a paint-shop-cleaning or hazmat-disposal search — and whether a prospect clicks it when it does — are missing, default WordPress stubs, or written in MPS-internal language.

Not blogging for the sake of blogging. SEO-validated service-page rewrites and authority articles that earn rankings in the industries MPS sells into — plus a short AEO / GEO read-out, and an optional cold-email automation layer added only on request.

Two newsletter reprints, both stale — and service pages buyers can't find because they're written in MPS-internal language.

The content gap isn't that mpsgrp.com doesn't publish enough blog posts. It's that the service pages use internal terminology ("Total Waste Management," "Industrial Services") while buyers search in plain-English problem language, and the news section has been dormant for nearly three years. Google has nothing new to rank and nothing keyword-aligned to rank for.

Where the content gap is actually costing MPS
  • Service pages use internal terminology ("Facilities Services," "Total Waste Management"). Buyers search "paint shop cleaning," "hazmat waste disposal," "hydroblasting services" — none of which appear in the current H1s or meta titles.
  • All 9 service pages have an empty meta description — Google autogenerates a snippet from Beaver Builder layout strings, not SERP-optimized copy.
  • News section has published nothing since 28 Jul 2023. Both existing posts are PDF-newsletter reprints, not topic-cluster content.
  • Zero topic clusters, zero pillar pages, zero interlinking — DA sits at 12/100 and organic traffic is branded-only (~400/mo).

Context → AI Search

What is AEO & GEO?

Two industry-coined terms for optimizing content in AI search. Google doesn't officially use either — but documents the practices behind both.

AEO

Answer Engine Optimization
01 / Concept

Structuring content so AI answer engines — AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity — can retrieve, select, and cite it when generating direct answers.

01
Machine-readable markupSchema & structured data make pages eligible for rich results and AI citations.
02
Answer-first copyClear, citable facts up top; FAQ blocks, stats, and definitions engines can extract.
03
Voice & multimodalSearch handles voice queries and image prompts — content has to answer both.

Structured data is useful for sharing information about your content in a machine-readable way that our systems consider and makes pages eligible for certain search features and rich results.

Google Search Central

GEO

Generative Engine Optimization
02 / Concept

Writing authoritative, unique content that generative AI models will synthesize and quote when answering complex, conversational, or multi-step queries.

01
Unique, non-commodity contentGenerative engines ignore repetitive content and surface pages that add unique value.
02
Depth over breadthLong-form pieces that answer multi-step questions — the queries AI search is built on.
03
Authority signalsOriginal research, expert authorship, and credible sources the model can trust and cite.

Focus on making unique, non-commodity content that visitors from Search and your own readers will find helpful and satisfying. Then you're on the right path for success with our AI search experiences.

Google Search Central
Official status Industry-coined Neither term appears in Google Search Central docs or AI search guidance.
Current traffic share Minority of sessions AI platforms drive a small slice of organic visits today; natural search still dominates.
Measurement No AI Mode split GA4 and Search Console don't yet differentiate AI Mode queries from standard search.
21
Strategy → Topic Clusters

How a Topic Cluster Works

Every supporting article passes link equity back to the pillar page, building topical authority and search dominance.

Topic clustering groups related content around a central pillar page. Each supporting article targets a specific long-tail query and passes link equity back to the pillar, compounding topical authority over time.

  • Supporting articles link laterally and pass equity to the pillar
  • Pillar pages accumulate authority from their entire cluster
  • Search engines reward this topical depth with higher rankings
22
Strategy → Topical Authority

Building Topical Authority

Topic clusters surround the domain, each building concentrated search authority through interlinked supporting articles.

Topical authority is built by surrounding your domain with clusters of deeply interlinked content. Each cluster targets a core topic, and every supporting article strengthens the pillar's ranking power.

  • Seven supporting articles per cluster target long-tail queries
  • Every article passes link equity inward to its pillar page
  • Clusters compound authority across the entire domain
23
Strategy → Site Architecture

Flat Site Architecture

Content flows from the domain through the blog into organized pillar clusters, each with supporting articles passing equity inward.

A flat site architecture keeps every piece of content within three clicks of the homepage. The blog acts as a central hub that distributes authority evenly across each topic cluster.

  • Flat hierarchy keeps every page within three clicks
  • Each cluster builds self-contained topical authority
  • Blog hub distributes link equity across all pillars

What Is Waste Management? A Guide for Businesses
AI-generated illustration

Waste management is the systematic handling of waste from collection through disposal or recovery. For facilities and job sites, it means partnering with qualified haulers, segregating streams correctly, and documenting compliance.

MPS Group supports industrial and commercial clients with programs that reduce volume, control cost, and align with environmental regulations—so operations stay resilient and audit-ready.

Table of Contents
  • 1. Types of Waste Management Services
  • 2. Why Waste Management Matters
  • 3. Environmental Benefits & Compliance
  • 4. Reducing Waste Through Better Management
  • 5. Best Practices for Industries
Types of Waste Management Services
AI-generated illustration

Services typically include solid waste pickup, recycling, hazardous handling, and specialized streams tied to your operations. The right mix depends on your industry, footprint, and regulatory profile—not a one-size template.

Each program should map to how your sites actually generate waste, so you avoid landfilling material that could be recycled or consolidated. waste stream assessment is often the first step.

Why Businesses Prioritize Structured Waste Programs

Strong programs limit regulatory exposure, support ESG reporting, and reduce total cost of ownership. They also make it easier to train crews and onboard vendors without service gaps or compliance surprises.

Why is waste management important for businesses?
It controls cost, keeps you compliant with federal and state rules, and protects brand reputation when audits or incidents occur.
How can waste management improve business sustainability?
Measured diversion, documented handling, and vendor accountability feed directly into sustainability metrics and customer or investor expectations.

Research snapshot

Organic visit distribution

  • Across 11 competitors, homepages capture 41% of organic traffic, local pages 28%, transactional 15%, blog only 1% — no incumbent owns the informational layer.

Local page opportunity

  • One Waste Management page in Gunnison, CO (a 6,500-person town) pulled 268,361 visits — a single well-built local page can outperform thousands of generic ones.

Transactional page model

  • Clean Harbors earns 43% of traffic from just 43 transactional pages at DR 66 — a replicable model for MPS, rather than WM’s 3,000-page scale approach.

Direct competitor gap

  • MPW Services earns 84% of its 7K monthly traffic from a single homepage; a focused 10-page service hub positions MPS to close that gap within twelve months.
